Australian Ecosystems (AE) was engaged by Development Victoria as principal landscape contractor for the delivery of Carnboon Park at Riverwalk in Werribee.

Delivered across four stages, the project brought together a broad range of landscape construction works, including playgrounds, shelters, seating and BBQ facilities, concrete pathways, extensive rockwork and indigenous planting. AE’s involvement across the full program provided continuity as each stage of the surrounding residential precincts was delivered.

Carnboon Park covers more than 8,500 m² and has been designed as an important open space for the growing Riverwalk community, incorporating an adventure play area and space for recreation, gathering and outdoor activity.

The project is a good example of Australian Ecosystems’ broad landscape construction capability, bringing together hardscape, structures, play, planting and public open space within a single project. Working closely with Development Victoria and Outlines Landscape Architecture, the team delivered the landscape elements as an integrated package rather than as separate scopes.

Today, Carnboon Park provides Riverwalk residents with a substantial new area of public open space at the heart of the neighbourhood.
