Shrub or small tree. Grows on dunes and coastal cliffs, very salt tolerant. Thick, smooth, green egg shaped dull green leaves 30-90mm long, white flowers with purple spots. Used as fast growing hedge or windbreak species which outstands coastal winds and drought.
