Atriplex cinerea

Grey saltbush

Dense, medium sized spreading silver foliaged shrub with cream flower clusters. Prostrate to erect, heavily branched, leafy shrub. Leaves alternate, silver or grey-green in color. Plant is covered with bladderlike hairs. Male flowers in purple globular clusters but look yellow when in bloom. Female plant also flowers but more discreetly. Useful for planting on exposed coastal locations, as soil and sand control on roadsides, verges, fire breaks, parks and reserves.
