Bulbine lily

Tufted perennial herb with a bulb-like tuber and fleshy roots. Erect grey-green to reddish, hollow, fleshy to almost round rush-like leaves to 30cm x 1-5mm. 1-2 erect flowering stems with a terminal yellow spike of star-shaped flowers to 20mm wide. Stamens bearded. Round straw-colored capsule. A cheery yellow lily for planting in drifts, amongst rocks or in cottage gardens. ​
