Austral rush

​Loosely tufted perennial rush spreading from underground stems. Erect full green to blue green stems to 3mm diameter with regularly spaced raised ridges. Doesn’t split easily. Pith open with large air spaces. Flowers in one to many roundish clusters to 30mm wide, close or distantly spaced, 3-4 stamens. Main bract continues above flowers to 30cm. Capsules golden brown tipped as long as flower.
